This scarf is dyed according to traditional techniques of Ayuvedia, using a combination of medicinal plants focused on detoxification and improving your skin.
The plants used include indigo, pomegranate, white sandalwood, asparagus, 4 types of ficus, golden apple, 12 types of nettle, 12 types of holy basil, 4 types of neem, Alexandrian laurel balltree, inula racemosa, redwood fig tree, cuscus grass, andrographis paniculata, indian ginseng, nell and beechwood. The fabric is carefully treated with these plants in a process that keeps the beneficial properties of the various plants and herbs alive.
The fabric is handloomed by a non-profit that focuses on the welfare and development of deprived, marginalized and downtrodden traditional handloom weaving communities in India by providing jobs having fair wages and safe working conditions.
This scarf is made with organic cotton fabric that is grown, harvested and processed without the use of harmful chemicals that could leech into our environment.
In addition, this scarf is dyed with natural, sustainably harvested plants and herbs. Natural plant dyes are the most sustainable type of dye known. Not only do plant dyes not produce toxic run-off during the dyeing process, but our plant dyes have a negative carbon footprint. Meaning that the plants used in plant dyeing remove more carbon from the atmosphere during their growth than is released during the dyeing process, helping to reverse the cause of global climate change.
The scarf is 78" long and 40" wide.
