These tees are hand-dyed with using locally-sourced organic avocado skins and seeds and GOTS certified organic extracts from madder roots. Each shirt is hand-tied to create stripes, making each one unique.

Unlike industry-standard petroleum-based dyes, these tees are dyed with organic avocado skins and seeds and organic madder roots.

Avocados make a beautiful, lasting pink dye from the skins and seeds. The main pigments are tannins, natural astringents also found in wines and tea, and anthrocyanins, which are highly antioxidant. Much safer for your skin than synthetic alternatives.

Madder root is one of the oldest natural dyes, known for its ability to make beautiful reds. It has been safely used for thousands of years, since at least ancient Egypt (cloth dyed with it has even been found alongside the possessions of King Tut).

The entire production of this tee, from the growing of the organic cotton to the manufacture is GOTS certified, which in additional to its strict environmental standards, also certifies that every company involved in production provides fair wages and safe working conditions.

Dyed with recycled, organic food waste (avocado skins and seeds) and GOTS certified organic madder roots. These plant dyes do not produce toxic run-off like conventional (and other organic dyes) and plant dyes remove carbon from the air during the plants' growth, helping reverse the cause of global climate change.

Care Instructions: Machine wash on the gentle cycle using a mild, pH neutral detergent and without fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low.
