The model wearing the navy/white top is 5'6" and wearing a size small. The model wearing the purple rose/natural top and the blue/grey top is 5’10” and wearing a size small. A small is 20.5" long and 35" at the bust unstretched.

Unlike industry-standard petroleum-based dyes, the navy and white top is dyed with organic indigo leaves, the purple rose and natural top is dyed with lac, and the blue and gray top is dyed with organic indigo leaves and wood from the Campeche tree.

Indigo leaf dye has been safely used for thousands of years (dating back to 2000-3000 B.C.) for its ability to make strong and beautiful blues. In the 1800s, natural indigo was almost completely replaced by synthetic indigo, which is derived from the known toxin aniline (a chemical that has been used to make rocket fuel).

Lac has been safely used since as early as 250 AD and has even been used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat skin diseases. Lac is sustainably extracted from small scale insects.

Wood from the Campeche tree (also known as logwood) has been safely used in Europe since the 1500s, and by the Mayans for hundreds of years before that. It is prized for creating longlasting blacks with the addition of iron.

The fabric, sewing thread and plant dyes used in this top are GOTS certified, which in additional to strict environmental standards, also certifies that every company involved in production provides fair wages and safe working conditions.

The top was manufactured in Los Angeles by a small company that likewise provides its workers safe working conditions and fair wages.

This shirt is made with GOTS certified organic cotton fabric, plant dyes and sewing thread. GOTS certification is the highest standard in organic. Every step - from the growing of the cotton, to final manufacture, is independently verified to be organic.

Also, plant dyes do not produce toxic run-off like conventional (and other organic dyes) and plant dyes remove carbon from the air during the plant's growth, helping reverse the cause of global climate change.

Machine wash on gentle cycle using a mild pH-neutral detergent and without fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low.
