Kids Sunburst Tee

The safest kid's clothing around - made with organic cotton and dyed with organic plants. These tees are hand-dyed with organic weld leaves and flowers and marigold petals using traditional Japanese shibori techniques to create a one-of-a-kind sunburst pattern.  Each piece is unique.

The model is 1 year 7 months old, 33" tall, and wearing a size 18-24 months.

Unlike industry-standard petroleum-based dyes, these tees are dyed with organic weld, and marigold flowers.

Marigolds, of the tagetes species used on these tees, have been traditionally used topically for their astringent and antibiotic properties. Studies have found that marigolds are high in antioxidants and other enzymes good for the skin, and are currently researching its use as an anti-wrinkle cream.

Weld is an incredible natural dye plant that was historically used throughout Europe, Asia and was even used by native Americans. It is known for its ability to make the longest lasting natural yellows.

The entire production of this tee, from the growing of the organic cotton to the manufacture is GOTS certified, which in additional to its strict environmental standards, also certifies that every company involved in production provides fair wages and safe working conditions.

This tee is made with GOTS certified organic cotton fabric and plant dyes - the highest standard in organic. Every single step of in the creation of this piece, from the growing of the cotton, to final manufacture, is independently verified to be organic.

After manufacture, the tee was also locally plant dyed in Los Angeles. Plant dyes do not produce toxic run-off like conventional (and other organic dyes) and plant dyes remove carbon from the air during the plant's growth, helping reverse the cause of global climate change.

Machine wash on gentle cycle using a mild pH-neutral detergent and without fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low.
