Clean and simple face mask made with organic cotton, natural rubber elastic and organic plant dyes. Longer length for additional protection and side opens for optional insertion of an extra filter.

While most clothing and accessories use synthetic fabrics and dyes (even organic apparel), our masks are made with 100% organic cotton, naturally dyed with plants. The blue shibori mask is dyed with organic indigo leaves and the charcoal gray mask is dyed with oak galls and wood from the Campeche tree.

Indigo leaf dye has been safely used for thousands of years (dating back to 2000-3000 B.C.) for its ability to make strong and beautiful blues. In the 1800s, natural indigo was almost completely replaced by synthetic indigo, which is derived from the known toxin aniline (a chemical that has been used to make rocket fuel).

Oak has natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce skin irritation.

Wood from the Campeche tree (also known as logwood) has been safely used in Europe since the 1500s, and by the Mayans for hundreds of years before that. It is prized for creating longlasting blacks with the addition of iron.

The fabric, sewing thread and plant dyes used in these masks are GOTS certified, which, in additional to strict environmental standards, also certifies that every company involved in production provides fair wages and safe working conditions.

Machine wash on gentle cycle using a mild pH-neutral detergent and without fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low.
