Plant-dyed Harem Pants

Made with GOTS certified organic cotton fabric, thread and labels, natural rubber elastic at the waist, and dyed with natural plant dyes. Free of petroleum-based fabrics and dyes. Good for you and the Earth.

The model is 5'6" and wearing a size small. A small is 28.5" at the waist and 37" total length.

Unlike industry-standard petroleum-based dyes, these pants are dyed with oak and wood from the Campeche tree.

Oak has natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce skin irritation.

Wood from the Campeche tree (also known as logwood) has been safely used in Europe since the 1500s, and by the Mayans for hundreds of years before that. It is prized for creating longlasting blacks with the addition of iron.

The fabric, sewing thread and plant dyes used in these pants are GOTS certified, which in additional to strict environmental standards, also certifies that every company involved in production provides fair wages and safe working conditions.

This internal elastic is from a company that practices fair trade throughout its supply chain.

The pants were manufactured in Los Angeles by a small company that likewise provides its workers safe working conditions and fair wages.

These pants are made with GOTS certified organic cotton fabric, plant dyes and sewing thread. GOTS certification is the highest standard in organic. Every step - from the growing of the cotton, to final manufacture, is independently verified to be organic.

Also, plant dyes do not produce toxic run-off like conventional (and other organic dyes) and plant dyes remove carbon from the air during the plant's growth, helping reverse the cause of global climate change.

The internal elastic at the waist is 65% organic cotton and 35% natural rubber.

Machine wash on gentle cycle using a mild pH-neutral detergent and without fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low.
